Yesterday I finally decided to get my first premium wordpress theme. I had been thinking about getting the pro version of my old Moochrome Gallery theme but then I found out that Thad Allender at Graph Paper Press has released a new version of his Modularity theme. I couldn’t resist. It’s a multimedia theme with built-in slideshow, mac-style slider and optional magazine style features. All fully customizable via a theme options page. The theme cost me 75$ and I think they are well spent. But there is also a Modularity Light version which is for free.
It took me two days to customize it to my liking and of course I will always find something to tinker on… but for now I have decided to officially anounce the makeover.
The structure of the template gives me much more freedom in blogging then I had before because I am not restricted to five categories and “images with every post” anymore. And I don’t have to tweek the code so much because many options are built-in. I decide which modules I activate or what the color of the hover link is gonna be by simply going to my theme options page. If you are looking for a new theme yourself you might wanna take a look over at Graph Paper Press. You can find another very good collection here. For artists I would recommend the photo gallery, specialized and premium sections but please also have a look at the others.
New theme, new year. I hope the latter will turn out the same way the makeover has. More freedom, less restrictions but better structure and more visibility.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year..may you have the power to make your dreams come true.
