To get into “real” (brick and mortar) galleries and museums and sell there,you need to connect to gallery owners, museum directors, art collectors etc. Facebook has over 175 million members who create and join groups of all sorts. Over 500 of these groups are gallery related (just go to “groups”and search for “galleries”). And there are also over 500 museum groups. They range from virtual museums to the MoMA in NYC. Where else would you find so many people in your field that you can connect to in such an easy way? So far, I have gotten free tickets to art shows, features in magazines, found new galleries to exhibit in and met many amazing artists who have taught me stuff I would never have come up with on my own. All this happened on Facebook and other social networks. This is a very new way of doing business which I find very exciting. It’s about creating your own career just like Val does on YouTube: She creates one video a week about a painting she made and sells it to the highest bidder.She has 30.000 subscribers and sells every single painting.
